Last updated: October 16, 2025
This Privacy Policy applies to LostInTransit.us and the website www.LostInTransit.us.
This Privacy Policy explains how LostInTransit.us (“LostInTransit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”)
collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards personal information when you visit
www.LostInTransit.us, create an account, make a purchase, or otherwise interact with us
(collectively, the “Services”). We use Stripe to securely process payments.
If you purchase our products through third-party marketplaces (e.g., eBay, Mercari,
Poshmark, Amazon, Walmart), those platforms’ privacy policies also apply. We receive
limited order information from them to fulfill your purchase.
If you have questions or want to exercise privacy rights, contact us at
randy@lostintransit.us, 662-740-0386, or 362 County Road 982, Iuka, MS 38852.

We collect the types of information below, depending on how you interact with us.
Identifiers & contact info: name, email, phone, billing and shipping addresses.
Account data: username, hashed password, preferences (e.g., category alerts, email opt-
ins).
Order & commercial data: items purchased, order totals, delivery status, support
history, returns.
Payment info: payment method details are entered via Stripe. We do not store full card
numbers or CVC codes on our servers.
Device & usage data (cookies/analytics): IP address, device type, browser, pages
viewed, links clicked, approximate location (from IP), session duration, and referring
URLs.
Marketing interactions: email opens/clicks, unsubscribe status, promo participation.
User content: product reviews, messages you send us.
From third parties: order details received from marketplaces; shipping updates from
carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.); fraud-prevention signals from payment partners.
2) How we use your information
We use information to:
Provide the Services: create/manage accounts; process and fulfill orders; provide
customer support; handle returns and refunds.
Process payments & prevent fraud: via Stripe and related risk-management tools.
Communicate with you: order confirmations, shipping updates, service messages, and
(if you opt in) marketing emails about new listings and markdowns in your categories of
interest.
Improve and personalize: debug, analyze performance, and enhance our site and
offerings.
Comply with law and enforce terms: tax/accounting, legal requests, and preventing
misuse.
Legal bases (EEA/UK visitors): contract performance, legitimate interests (e.g., fraud
prevention, site improvement), legal obligations, and consent where required (e.g., certain
cookies/marketing).
3) Parties to whom we disclose information (and the method of
disclosure)
We disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients, using secure,
minimal, and purpose-specific methods:
Payment processor (Stripe): We send payment-related data (e.g., name, email,
billing/shipping addresses, order amount, limited order metadata) to Stripe via
encrypted connections at checkout. Stripe independently processes payment method
details and provides us with a tokenized response and limited card info (e.g., last 4
digits, brand). We do not receive or store full card numbers or CVC codes.
Operational service providers: site hosting, email and CRM providers, analytics,
customer support tools, and IT/security vendors. Disclosures occur over secure
channels (e.g., API/HTTPS) and under contracts limiting use of the data to providing
services to us.
Shipping & logistics: carriers, warehouse/fulfillment partners, customs brokers (where
applicable) receive only what’s needed to deliver your order (recipient name, address,
contact details, package contents/values where required).
Fraud prevention & risk management: tools and services that help detect and prevent
fraudulent or abusive activity.
Advertising/analytics partners (if enabled): only for site analytics and (if applicable)
interest-based advertising; see Cookies & Tracking below for your choices.
Affiliates and corporate transactions: in the event of a merger, acquisition, financing, or
sale of assets, your info may transfer as part of the transaction (subject to
confidentiality and applicable law).
Legal & compliance: courts, regulators, law enforcement, or professional advisors when
required or permitted by law.
We do not sell personal information. If we “share” personal information for cross-context
behavioral advertising (as defined by certain U.S. state laws), we will honor opt-out
preferences (see Your Privacy Rights).
4) Cookies & tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to: (a) run the site and your cart, (b) measure
performance and improve features, and (c) deliver and measure marketing if you opt in
(where required). You can manage preferences via our cookie banner (if shown) or your
browser settings. Some cookies are essential and cannot be disabled.
5) Data retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including fulfilling
orders, maintaining business and tax records, resolving disputes, and meeting legal
obligations. Typical retention periods vary by record type (e.g., orders may be retained for
up to 7 years for accounting/tax compliance).
6) Your choices & privacy rights
Email marketing: You can opt out at any time using the “unsubscribe” link or by contacting
us.
Account: You can review and update account details in your account dashboard or by
contacting us.
U.S. state privacy rights (e.g., CA/VA/CO/CT/UT): Depending on where you live, you may
request to know/access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we
collected about you; correct inaccuracies; delete personal information; opt out of “sales” or
“sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising (if applicable); and limit use of sensitive
personal information (if we collect any beyond what’s necessary). Submit requests at
randy@lostintransit.us or 662-740-0386. We’ll verify your request and respond as required
by law. You may use an authorized agent (we may need proof of authorization). We won’t
discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
EEA/UK visitors: You have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing,
and data portability. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Where consent is the legal basis, you can withdraw consent at any time.
7) Children’s privacy
Our Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal
information from children under 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions). If you believe a
child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8) Security practices
We apply organizational, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal
information, including:
Transport security: all pages, checkout, and APIs use HTTPS/TLS.
Payment security: payments are handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 validated service
provider. We don’t store full card numbers or CVC codes on our systems.
Access controls: role-based access (least privilege), multi-factor authentication for
administrator accounts, and logging of sensitive actions.
Data minimization & segregation: we collect the minimum necessary data and keep
payment data segregated through our processor.
Vendor due diligence: contracts limit service providers’ use of data to performing
services for us, with appropriate security obligations.
Secure development & monitoring: regular updates and vulnerability management.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute
security, but we continuously work to protect your information.
9) International transfers
We are U.S.-based. When you use our Services from outside the U.S., your information may
be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where required, we rely on
appropriate safeguards for such transfers (e.g., standard contractual clauses or other
mechanisms used by our service providers, including Stripe).
10) Third-party links and marketplaces
Our site may link to third-party sites. Their privacy policies govern those sites. If you buy on
third-party marketplaces, we receive only the information needed to fulfill your order; your
relationship with those platforms is governed by their terms and privacy policies.
11) Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time (e.g., for legal, operational, or transparency
reasons). We’ll post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date, and, where
required, notify you by email or prominent notice.
